Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani has rejected magisterial inquiry into Shopian ‘massacre’ saying it is fraud and deceptive act propound by authorities and aims at to cool down peoples resentment and added that in past the similar announcement were made but neither the offenders were arrested nor brought to justice.
In a statement on Sunday, Geelani said that tall claims about the investigations in Markundal and Gool incidents proved to be hoax and however, later the accused were provided benefit of doubt and investigation were set aside.
While referring to the statement of Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Geelani said that apparently he had expressed his sorrow over these incidents and had agreed to bring the killers to justice; however it later turned to be mere political gimmick.
Terming AFSPA and Disturbed Area Act a legal license for forces to kill as per their choice and will , Geelani said, “I have very simple question to ask. If the magistrate has power to proceed against the killers and announce his verdict and punish them if and when theses killers are identified. The fact is that Delhi administration is deceiving the international community.”
He further added that, “it is state administration which provides them the safe passage and help them in their ploy against the Kashmiri people. Omar Abdullah is also aware about the fact that nothing will come out of these investigations and said for him; it is enough if Delhi agrees to shift the said CRPF camp from Gagran Shopian to somewhere else.”
Geelani said as usual the officials will record statements in Gagran incidents and till then the forces personnel on one excuse or the other would kill a few more innocents and people would forget about the Shopian episode.
“As long as Indian forces are there the incidents and tragedies like Shopian will over and over again happen. Neither Omar Abdullah can stop this nor can Mufti Syed or Saif u Din Soz do any help. India would have faced tough times for its wrongdoings in Kashmir but it is for these pro-Indian politicians that India has managed to avoid accountability at international forum,” and added that it is because of pro-Indian politicians in state that international community believes that a local administration exists here.
Lashing out at influential international community for their dual standard and said they neglect, with criminal silence, when it comes to Kashmir and added that Kashmiri being a Muslim majority sate, so no serious steps are being taken to stop this genocide.
