In an interesting turn of events, State Police Ashok Prasad has suggested Syed Ali Geelani to contest polls for changing the rule of law in Kashmir, a local news gathering agency reported.

“These separatist leaders will get nothing from strikes and stone pleting. If they really want to serve people, they should come forward and participate in elections. Once they make entry into the assembly they can change laws which they find anti-people,” Prasad was quoted saying to CNS.

The state police chief has stated that Geelani is always harping on a single point that anti-people laws are prevalent in J&K. “If he wants to change the laws then he must stand in elections. Mere press statements can’t change the course of history,” Ashok Prasad said.
