KL Report

SRINAGAR

In an unprecedented decision, Kashmir’s ailing separatist patriarch, Syed Ali Geelani on Saturday announced transfer of his entire immovable property to an autonomous and independent trust. The property including Geelani’s official Hyderpora residence, Tehreek-i-Hurriyat head office building and Millat Publications.

“It has remained a tragedy of Kashmir that its leaders have not been held accountable and nobody has raised fingers over their conduct,” Geelani said in a statement. “But I want my person and my party to stay transparent in our dealings with the society.”

The Trust, already registered, comprises of eight (8) people who have been authorized to use the said property for the purposes Tehreek-i-Hurriyat was constituted for. “Nobody has any claims to anything in these properties,” the statement asserted.

The names of the trustees however have not been made public.
