Chief minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said he is not afraid of more than eighty year’s old separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani. CM asserted that Geelani’s freedom is curtailed because his speeches trigger law and order situations.
“By and large he (Geelani) is free to do whatever he wants, but there is a pattern in his speeches which he delivers after the Friday prayers,” Omar said. “He incites people and when we intervene, it becomes a law and order issue.”
Omar said if anybody assures that there will not be any law and order situation, he will ensure all the restrictions on Geelani’s movement are lifted.
Omar said while dealing with such law and order situation, if something happens, nobody holds Geelani responsible, but it is the state police that faces the music. Omar said he had intervened in limitation of restrictions earlier but could not see the change in the pattern of happenings.
