Chief minister Omar Abdullah sought clarification from New Delhi about the withdrawal and relocation of the Indian army from Ladakh, a development that helped ease the Sino Indian tensions in Daulat Beg Oldie sector in Ladakh.

“We believe the entire territory belongs to us, so we need to know if the army withdrew from our area to which place they withdrew to,” Omar Abdullah said. “We need to know the ground position.”

Omar said his knowledge of the undoing of standoff is strictly based on the media reports. The mutual withdrawal, he said, has cleared the air for foreign minister Salman Khursheed’s visit to Beijing. The scheduled visit, he said, was being doubted as the Chinese were sitting in a tented colony in Ladakh.

Chief minister said the standoff was undone by using diplomatic channels. While Indian’s foreign minister is schedule to visit Beijing next week, Chinese premiere is flying to Delhi later this month while on way to Islamabad.
