Girl Attempts Suicide in Shopian, Boy Dies in Road Mishap

SRINAGAR

A girl attempted to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance in Shopian District of South Kashmir while a boy died in a road mishap, police said Sunday evening.

An 18 years old girl (name withheld) and resident of Maldara Zainapora in Shopian District in an attempted to end her life, consumed some poisonous substance at her home. The girl has been shift to SMHS Hospital for treatment.

A boy died while five others were injured in different road accidents across the valley.

In Budgam, a Maximo Mini van bearing registration number JK13C-1819 hit and injured a pedestrian, an 18 years old Sajad Ahmad Ganie resident of Bikamnar, Budgam at Ompora Bazar. The injured boy succumbed to his injuries while being shifted to SKIMS Soura.

Meanwhile, a tipper bearing registration number JK04-6726 hit and injured a pedestrian Hajra wife of Nazir Ahmad Rather resident of Kralpora Shalpora at Main Bazar Chadoora. The injured lady was shifted to Bone & Joint Hospital, Barzulla for treatment.

In Ganderbal, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01V-1549 hit and injured a pedestrian, a 75 years old Ghulam Mohammad Tantray resident of Duderhama at Duderhama. The injured was shifted to the Hospital for treatment.

In Awantipora, a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK02R-8170 collided with a Maruti 800 bearing registration number JK18-7316 near Chandhara on Srinagar-Jammu Highway, resulting in injuries to three persons. All the injured have been shifted to Sub District Hospital Pampore for treatment.
