A teenager in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district drowned in River Jhelum on Saturday afternoon.
Umer Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Baba of Sheeri in the district was taking a bath along with his friends in Jhelum when the river current swept him away, an official told GNS.
Following the incident, the police, army and locals launched a search operation to fish out the body of teenager. The rescue operation was going on when the last reports came in.
