SRINAGAR: A 10-year-old girl was injured after being attacked by a leopard near her residence in the Hayar area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday evening.
An official said the leopard attacked the girl near her residence, leaving her injured.
The girl, identified as Zikra, daughter of Mohd Yousuf Ganai, a resident of Hayar, was initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment. She was later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for specialised treatment.
Meanwhile, residents have urged the administration and wildlife authorities to take immediate measures to prevent further leopard attacks in the area.
