A lady died while another was injured in different accidents in the South Kashmir and an old man was found dead in Kulgam, police said on Thursday.
A Sumo bearing registration number JK18-3864 hit and injured a lady Ifat Begum wife of Abdul Rashid Deeda resident of Panjgam Naad, Qazigund police said on Thursday.
The injured was shifted to District Hospital Islamabad, where she succumbed to her injuries. A case has been registered in this regard.
A TATA 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK03-2462 hit and injured a girl Sameena daughter Mohammed Yousaf Dyana Ashmuqam. The injured girl was shifted to Hospital where from she was referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment.
An 85 years old man was found dead near a Nallah in Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam.
Police said that they were informed about a body lying in the Nallah at Mirwani, in Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam. A Police Party rushed to the spot where it was found that one Abdul Rahim Sheikh age of 85 years old son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh resident of Mirwani who had left from his home yesterday to see his daughter married at village Chogalpora.
“Apparently the old man had slipped and fell in the Nallah and expired,” police said.
Police has initiated an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of the death.
Meanwhile, a 17 years old girl (name withheld) daughter of Abdul Samad resident of Mulgam, Tangmarg jumped in Dal Lake near Makyie point Cheshmashahi, Srinagar police said.
However, the girl was saved by timely action of police and shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 24 years old lady (name withheld) daughter of Abdul Rashid resident of Soof Shali, Kokernag consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was shifted to the hospital for treatment.
