Search is going on in the river Jehlum to fish out the body of a young girl who jumped from Amira Kadel last evening, official sources said.
In a second incident of its kind in last fortnight, a young girl jumped into roaring river Jehlum from Amira Kadel bridge in the presence of hundreds of people, last evening, official sources said.
Earlier on March 5, a girl ended her life in the same way.
The eyewitnesses said that some people also jumped into the river to save the girl however, they could not save her.
Sources said that the girl is a resident of Dandarkha locality of Batamaloo, area.
It was not immediately clear as to why she took this extreme step.
A search has been launched to recover the body.
Pertinently, the water level of Jehlum has gone very high after the recent snow and rainfall in the valley.
