Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar conducted ninth three-day workshop on research methodology for biomedical research from September 07-09 2017 in collaboration with international clinical epidemiology network (INCLEN) with support from medical council of India under aegis of IAPSM, said Prof. S. Muhammad Salim Khan, HOD Community Medicine, GMC Srinagar and organising chairman of the research methodology workshop.

The workshop was attended by doctors, faculty and researchers from GMC Srinagar, GDC Srinagar, SKIMS, SKIMS Medical College, SKUAST and GMC Chamba HP.

The participants, spokesman said were sensitized about various research techniques and designs, statistical methods, data analysis, reference search, Mendeley, protocol development and research ethics.

Principal GMC Srinagar Prof. Samia Rashid was the chief-guest at inaugural and valedictory function and the internationally acclaimed visiting faculty included Prof. Narendra Kumar Arora executive director international clinical epidemiology network, Prof. Ravendra Pandey, HOD biostatistics AIIMS New Delhi, Dr. Manoj Daj, director projects INCLEN and Dr. Shariq Masoodi from SKIMS.

The workshop was accredited by J&K State medical council with 12 CME credit hours. Over last three years eight such workshops were conducted by department of community medicine, GMC Srinagar which was attended by over 240 doctors and researchers for better understanding of biomedical research in current perspective of health and disease scenario,
