Srinagar

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved enhancement of 13 more BDS seats each for the upcoming session of 2019-2020 for Government Dental College (GDC) Srinagar and Jammu respectively thus enhancing the capacity from the existing 50 to 63 in the state.

The overall increase of seats in the state would now be 26 for implementation of 10% reservation of seats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates in compliance with the 103 Amendment Act-2019.

“This is seen as a major boost to the overall scenario in the discipline of Dentistry in the state of J&K where all healthcare institutions are now being planned to be supplemented with Dental care and facilities,” official sources said.

“This is good news for aspiring candidates in Jammu and Kashmir,” reports quoted Principal GDC Srinagar Dr Riyaz Farooq as having said.
