Gold Prices Rise Amid Firm Demand

   

SRINAGAR: Gold prices in futures trade rose by Rs 231 to Rs 1,53,994 per 10 grams on Thursday, supported by fresh positions taken by speculators amid firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold contract for October delivery gained Rs 231, or 0.15 per cent, to trade at Rs 1,53,994 per 10 grams. The contract recorded a business turnover of 867 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise to the creation of fresh positions by participants.

In international trade, gold futures in New York advanced 0.47 per cent to USD 4,419.57 per ounce.
