SRINAGAR

The twin highway towns of Banihal and Ramban shut in protest over Gool happenings, reports said. At least two vehicles were reportedly consigned to flames outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Ramban by a small group of young protestors.

There are lot of rumors in the area, a reporter based in Banihal said. Nobody knows what actually happened and how many are killed. This, he said, is adding fuel to the fire.

The movement on the highway has slowed down hugely after the morning attacks in Ramban. Both the towns are on strike. In the afternoon police started making deployments all along the highway. Train service is running smoothly, reports added.
