SRINAGAR: In response to a communication from Prof. Sudhakar Yedla, Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir), the Ministry of Education has approved the release of Prof Yedla from his role, effective 9th January 2024.

Per the communication dated 4th January 2024, the decision was prompted by Prof. Yedla following correspondence from the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, dated 26th December 2023.

Prof A Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir (J&K), has been assigned the additional responsibility of the Directorship of NIT, Srinagar (J&K). The decision takes immediate effect and is valid for six months or until further orders are issued or the appointment of a regular Director at NIT, Srinagar (J&K), whichever occurs earlier.

The order, signed by Under Secretary Pawan Kumar, reflects a strategic move by the Ministry of Education to ensure the seamless functioning of NIT, Srinagar (J&K) during this transitional period.
