Governor N N Vohra hosted an At Home at Raj Bhavan lawns, in Jammu Tuesday afternoon, while Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, hosted the program at SKICC in Srinagar to celebrate the India’s 67th Republic Day.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, Legislative Assembly; Haji Inayat Ali, Chairman, Legislative Council; Nazir Ahmad Khan Gurezi, Deputy Speaker, Legislative Assembly; Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat- Judges of the State High Court; Legislators; Lt General D S Hooda, Northern Army Commander; Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar, GoC 16 Corps; Maj. Gen. Sanjeev Narayan, GoC 26 Div, Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, GoC 10 Div; leaders of various social and political organizations were among the prominent persons who attended the At Home, an official spokesperson said this evening.
The At Home was also attended by serving and retired senior Civil, Police, Central Armed Police, Army and Air Force officers, Vice Chancellors, media persons and prominent citizens from all walks of life. Invitees included a significant number of ex-Servicemen of Non-Commission ranks.
The Governor and Mrs Vohra, First Lady, interacted with the invitees and exchanged Republic Day greetings with them.
The spokesperson added that Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon hosted At Home at SKICC.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir, SJM Gillani, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Lone, Senior Civil, Police and Army officers and senior citizens attended the function.
