Governor terms Hurriyat’s willingness to talk an ‘encouraging sign’

Governor Satya Pal Malik on Saturday welcomed the statement of Hurriyat leaders expressing readiness for talks and said that it is an encouraging sign.

While addressing at a function organized by Doordarshan Kendra Kashmir in Srinagar, Malik said that Hurriyat once did not open door to Ram Vilas Paswan (presently a Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution) who was standing at their door, but the leaders are ready for the talks. He also said that since he has taken reins of the state “temperatures have improved a lot and are far below.”

Governor also expressed his happiness that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq spoke against drug menace and urged all to come up forward and play their role to completely limit the menace.
