Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that the awful situation in south Kashmir contradicts the recent claims of Governor SP Malik on ‘Operation All-out’.

Dr Farooq Abdullah while addressing various delegations at party headquarters Nawa e Subha Srinagar said, “Our party does not work on whims and compulsions. We as a party reject violence in every form. We have been strong votaries of dialogue and reconciliation; it was in our tenure that the central government held parleys with militants.”

He said, “It is the right time for people to affirm how passionately they feel about state’s special status,” adding that a strong mandated government under Omar Abdullah will work towards ending human rights violations, CASO’s, night crackdowns, and other miseries that were bequeathed by the former BJP-PDP government in the state.

Addressing party functionaries, workers and various visiting delegations at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subah, Srinagar Dr Farooq said divisive forces of the country in alliance with their local RSS proxies will try hard to create nuisance in the elections. “However no matter how hard they try people are all out for a stable government that can usher in an era of development. “Forces, as are inimical to state’s special status, are living in fool’s paradise, they will lately understand how passionately the people of the state feel about Art 370, Art35-A.  People have made their mind to tear down the sinister designs of those who are contriving to annihilate our special position within the union,” he said.

Among others, Provincial Secretary Showkat Mir, G N Wani Tailbali, G N Ratanpuri, District President Srinagar Peer Afaaq, Advisor to Party President  Mushtaq Guroo, Dr Sajad Uri, Shahid Ali, YNC Provincial President Kashmir Salman Ali Sagar, YNC Vice President Ahsan Pardesi were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, many delegations from Uri, Baramulla, and Zadibal met the party president and apprised him about the issues concerning them. Trade union leader Aijaz Khan met Dr Farooq and apprised him about various difficulties faced by the traders. Party president assured the visiting delegations that he will raise the issues with concerned authorities.
