The Governor’s Secretariat in the Raj Bhavan, Jammu, commenced functioning on Monday. The Secretariat had closed at Srinagar on 27th October 2016, an official spokesperson said this evening.
Governor N N Vohra went around the various wings of the Raj Bhavan Secretariat and directed the officers and staff to ensure cleanliness, courteous conduct in regard to all visitors, prompt disposal of all references, methodical record keeping, disaster management preparedness, and proper maintenance of the entire Raj Bhavan estate.
The Governor went around the CRPF and J&K Police Camps and also inspected the Raj Bhavan lawns and gardens.
P K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor and other officers of the Governor’s Secretariat accompanied the Governor during the visit.
GOC 16 Corps calls on Governor
Lt Gen A K Sharma, GOC 16 Corps, called on Governor N N Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan today and briefed the Governor about the obtaining security situation in his Area of Responsibility.
The Governor discussed with the GOC certain issues relating to effective internal security management in the hinterland and further strengthening of the counter-infiltration grid.
