Two persons died and other was seriously injured when a roof of under construction government building collapsed suddenly at Mansbal in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and a house collapsed at Gurweith, Budgam.

Witnesses told Srinagar based news gathering agency GNS that slab roof of the Revenue (Pathwari Khana) building at Tanter Mulaah Mansbal in Ganderbal suddenly fell on the working labors, resulting in the on spot death of a labor and injuring other seriously.

The deceased labor was identified as Farooq Ahmad Bhat (42) son of Ali Mohammad Bhat of Kundbal, Ganderbal and other injured who happens to be his brother was identified as Mohammad Ashraf Bhat.

“The injured Ashraf was immediately was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the witnesses said.

Similarly, a 40-year-old Mohammad Ayoub Kalas son-in-law of Ghulam Ahmad Bith resident of Gurweith Kalan, Khansahib died when the roof of his under construction house collapsed and fell over him. The body of deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites.

Meanwhile, police have registered cases in this connection and have started further investigations.
