The students of Government Degree College Budgam on Wednesday clashed with the forces after police tried to stop students from marching towards the main town.

As the students marched outside the college, to protest against the continuous detention of the students throughout the valley, police used tear gas shells to disperse them, reports said.

They said that students re-assembled and started raising slogans demanding the release of students.

When police chased the students they retaliated by pelting stones, which triggered chaos in the town, they said.

Meanwhile protests were also reported from Higher Secondary Budgam. Reports said that the students boycotted their classes and staged protest inside the college premises.
