SRINAGAR: After canceling the Amarnath Yatra 2021, the Jammu and Kashmir government has now deputed six KAS officers as Camp Directors/Additional Camp Directors en-route the track leading up to the cave.

As per an order issued by General Administration Department,  Ranjeet Sing (Deputy Excise Commissioner Distilleries Jammu); Gurmukh Singh (Joint Commissioner Transport); Vir Kishan Dhar (Secretary, Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission); Dhanantar Singh (Regional Transport Officer Jammu); Atul Kumar (Secretary Jammu Municipal Corporation); and Naresh Kumar (Currently in GAD) have all been deputed to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board from July 1, 2021.

The order states that the officers “shall revert back to the respective place of posting, immediately after the conclusion of Yatra-2021”.

The yatra was canceled for the second consecutive time this year following the Cpovid-19 pandemic’s second wave.

The Amarnath Shrine board informed that “all the traditional religious rituals to be performed at the Holy Cave Shrine as per past practice”.

The 56-day yatra was supposed to start from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal on June 28 and culminate on August 22. A few days back, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had paid obeisance at the cave.
