With BJP lawmaker Ravinder Raina coming on TV screen and seeking renegotiation with PDP, the government formation may get messy and delayed. Raina’s assertions are apparently in violation of the strict instruction that BJP leader Ram Madhav had issued during his Srinagar visit.

Raina revived three year term on TV screen in response to the new four conditions that PDP had reportedly set. It included doing away with deputy Chief Minister’s position, BJP not taking up any sensitive issue and returning power ministry to the PDP and enhanced union government financial assistance. Deputy Chief Minister is holding the power ministry charge and is reported to be in shambles in last more than nine months.

Nobody in the PDP is confirming that they have set these conditions. But indications suggest some issues were raked up during Madhav’s meeting with Ms Mufti. In fact, his body language after more than one hour meeting with Ms Mufti was indicative of certain tough talking inside.

PDP lacks any direct contact with PDP and all the talking, if at all if it is taking place, is taking place at the level of PDP president Ms Mufti. She had a brief meeting with Nitin Gadkari during the day.

ng PDP an option to reconsider its engagement. Though nothing of any sort has happened so far, despite Ms Gandhi flying to condole the death, PDP may see the fresh bargaining an option to move out.

Sections within the PDP are not supportive of the arrangement given the unpopularity it has landed the party in. A few leaders within the party believe the state has not achieved anything by being an ally of a party that seems unconcerned to the requirements of the state. These sections would love to go back to people if not stitching a new alliance with the congress.
