Party’s state President G A Mir Sunday said that BJP “believed in divisive politics” and might be working on some underhand tactics to engineer defection in political parties in the state.

Talking to KNS, Mir cautioned all state based political parties including PDP to be vigilant and keep a close watch on BJP’s moves.

He said like Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the saffron party may make similar efforts even here which need to be foiled. However, he refused to extend any olive branch to PDP as of now, and said the green-saffron alliance was still intact though murky.Mehbooba Mufti in Islamabad

He said Congress was responsible enough to its duties but won’t jump into the muddy waters under such circumstances, but said that the party was closely monitoring the situation and would take a call once such situation arises.

“They have not broken the alliance as yet. Mehbooba Mufti is struggling to please BJP, RSS and the people of Kashmir at a time which I reckon is not possible. Let her take a call on her ties with BJP first.” Mir said, adding that BJP was resorting to arrogance and indulging into ‘disrespect’ of the voters and the party they (voters) have chosen to rule. He said both PDP and BJP have taken the voters who came out overwhelmingly to vote, for-granted.

“People have a right to know what is being cooked inside.” said Mir. He added that the current situation was the outcome of the “political selfishness” of PDP and Mismanagement of BJP and GoI.

“Government of India could not tackle the sensitivities of Jammu and Kashmir. It even disrespected the party, the voters had voted for.” The congress leader said. He also said that people have to be respected in all means.
