Jammu and Kashmir government after announcing winter vacations has introduced an ‘optional schooling’ this winter.

According to the order issued by the government, Director School Education Kashmir has been directed in terms of departmental policy to provide optional schooling to notify schools where classes will be held durinf winter vacation for class 8th to 12th. This according to spokesman has been done to “compensate the loss suffered during the current year”.

For the students who have taken the 12th exams, Director is directed to notify schools for holding of Super-50 coaching. The teachers deployed for conducting special classes would be given incentives.

The spokesman adds that similar arrangements for winter schooling/coaching shall be made by DSE Jammu.

Regarding the conduct of practical exams, the government has ordered that officials associated with the conduct of practical examinations shall avail winter vacations only after conclusion of the practical examinations.

Further, officials required to undergo training as per the schedule already notified by the Chief Education Officers, shall compulsorily attend the training programme.

Pertinently government on Tuesday announced winter vacations from December 17 to February 28, 2017.
