Squarely blaming state govt for failing to address the issues concerning people in Valley due to current harsh winter, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has expressed serious concern over the difficulties people are facing in the backdrop of snowfall in the entire Kashmir valley.

J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) spokesperson lashed out state govt for failing to ensure road clearance and availability of electricity in upper areas in Southern parts of Kashmir and elsewhere. The Party blamed the govt for remaining confined to civil secretariat only.

He said areas like upper Verinag, Matigawaran, Lissar, Chatpal, Noorabad, Kund,Qazigund and other areas are badly affected due to snowfall and disconnected with district headquarter due to snowfall, but so far, Administration has not reached to these area, as a result, people are the worst hit due to snowfall.

He said mere tall claims with regard to electricity, snow clearance, road connectivity etc being made by the govt, from time to time, will not serve any purpose, govt should remain visible on the ground and itself ensure every facility to people in these days of harsh winter.

He said Administration must be geared and directed to reach every upper and plain area in the valley to take stock of the current situation in order to mitigate the problems being faced by the people on account of non-availability electricity, road clearance, shortage of essential commodities etc.

The Spokesperson added there were other areas in northern parts of Kashmir and Central Kashmir also, which are also affected due snowfall in valley, despite being aware about the conditions of the people in these areas, Govt seems to be careless, which is not only unfortunate, but highly condemnable.
