Govt Says All 28 Indians Safe After LPG Tanker Attacked in Iranian Waters

   

SRINAGAR: All 28 Indian crew members aboard the Mozambique-flagged LPG tanker DISHA are safe after the vessel came under attack in Iranian territorial waters, the Embassy of India in Tehran said on Saturday.

In a statement, the embassy confirmed the incident involving the LPG tanker and said it has been in continuous contact with local Iranian authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the crew.

“The Embassy acknowledges the incident involving the LPG tanker DISHA in Iranian territorial waters. All 28 Indian crew members are safe,” the statement said.

The embassy added that it is maintaining active coordination with local officials and is closely monitoring the situation.

No further details about the nature of the attack, the extent of damage to the vessel or the circumstances surrounding the incident were immediately available. The embassy did not disclose whether the tanker would continue its voyage or undergo further inspection following the attack.
