Unknown persons on Sunday hurled a grenade at the house of newly elected unopposed Sarpanch in Tral township of Pulwama district.
An official said the grenade was hurled at the residence of Rajinder Singh son of Nanak Singh a resident of Khasipora Tral.
Reports said Rajinder was elected unopposed as Sarpanch Khasipora Panchayat. The grenade exploded without causing any loss of life, they said.
Reports added that the blast triggered panic in the area.
