SRINAGAR: Cold wave conditions continued in the Kashmir Valley on Sunday as minimum temperatures remained below the freezing point.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir was the coldest place in the Valley where minimum temperature was minus 7.6 degrees.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of 0.1 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of 1.8 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 3.2 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.0 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 9.7 degrees Celsius, Katra 9.5, Batote minus 1.8, Banihal recorded 2.0 and Bhaderwah recorded minus 1.5 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest temperatures.
