SRINAGAR: The Gulmarg Gondola will remain out of service from September 14 to 17 for its scheduled annual inspection, during which routine safety checks and maintenance work will be carried out.
Both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the cable car service will remain unavailable throughout the closure period.
Operations are expected to resume immediately after the inspection is completed on September 17.
Visitors have been advised to purchase tickets only through the official Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) portal once the service resumes and to avoid local touts.
The authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure.
The Gulmarg Gondola, one of the world’s highest cable car projects, operates in two phases. Phase 1 at Kongdori stands at 10,006 ft, while Phase 2 at Affarwat is situated at 12,959 ft above sea level.
