SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar in the Jammu division.
A senior police official said that, following specific intelligence regarding suspicious activity, a tight cordon was established.
During the search operation, the security forces came under heavy fire, which triggered a gunfight. A fierce exchange of fire is currently ongoing, the official said.
