Speaker Concludes 21-Day Jammu Kashmir Assembly Budget Session

   

SRINAGAR:  Speaker of the  Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, on Wednesday adjourned the House sine die.

The 21-day Assembly session commenced on March 3 with the Lieutenant Governor’s address and concluded this afternoon, April 9 2025.

The Speaker informed the House that during the session, 1,355 questions were received. Of these, 154 main questions were taken up, and 353 supplementary questions were answered. He also stated that 1,738 Cut Motions were received, of which 1,731 were taken up for discussion.

Further, the Speaker said that three Government Bills were received and passed by the House. In addition, 33 Private Members’ Bills were received and listed for business.

The Speaker also informed the House that 78 Calling Attention Motions were received by the Assembly Secretariat, of which 23 were listed for business and 34 were disallowed.

He said that the 21-day Budget Session was the second longest in the country during 2025.

Additionally, he stated that 109 resolutions were received during the session, with 85 admitted and 14 listed for business.

The Speaker said that over 39 hours were utilised during the session.

He thanked all Assembly members for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of proceedings. He also extended gratitude to the Information Department, Assembly Secretariat, Health Department, Radio, Doordarshan, JK Police, media, and other stakeholders for their support during the Budget Session.
