A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces Chadder village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Taking to social networking site Twitter, Jammu and Kashmir Police wrote “Encounter at #kulgam . SFs on job. Details will follow.@JmuKmrPolice.”
Earlier today, Official sources said that a joint team of army’s 1 Rashtriya Rifles and SOG of police cordoned off the Qaimoh Kulgam following the specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot amid firing some warning shots, the militants, hiding in the area, opened fire, triggering off a gunfight.
