A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Drabgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday late evening.
An official said a Joint team of Army, Special Operations Group (SOG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon-and-search-operation after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants in the area.
As such the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot in the orchards, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off a brief exchange of fire, he said.
