Gunfight Erupts in Handwara As Army Believes ‘Four Militants Trapped in the Area’

Gunfight erupted between forces and militants in north Kashmir Handwara Friday afternoon.

Three to four militants are believed to be trapped in the gunfight that began in Handwara’s Bawan area, army said.

“A contact has been established with the militants and the exchange of fire was on when the last reports poured in,” reports quoting army PRO said. “The area has been cordoned off and reinforcements have been rushed to the encounter site.”
