SRINAGAR: The Army on Tuesday said there was an exchange of fire with militants on Monday evening in the Lasana area of Surankote in Poonch district.
Taking to micro-blogging platform X, the Army’s Knight Corps wrote: “Contact was established with terrorists during a joint operation with @JmuKmrPolice at Lasana, Surankote last night. Additional troops have been inducted, and search operations are ongoing to prevent the terrorists from escaping.”

A senior police officer said more reinforcements have been rushed to the suspected site, and the search operation is underway. (GNS)
