SRINAGAR: In a scathing criticism of opposition parties for their call to protest on October 10, BJP J&K President, Ravinder Raina, asserted on Wednesday that the opposition parties, unified under the Gupkar Alliance, are actively conspiring against the development of Jammu and Kashmir.

During a press conference in Jammu, Ravinder Raina highlighted that the opposition parties, brought together under the Gupkar Alliance, are growing increasingly uncomfortable with the progress and prosperity witnessed in J&K. He claimed that these parties have been plotting against the Union Territory for a considerable period.

Raina condemned the opposition parties for their decision to organise a protest in Jammu on October 10, characterizing it as a well-orchestrated ploy to deceive the people of the UT. He questioned their absence during the tumultuous times when J&K was grappling with turmoil, violence, and uncertainty.

“Where were they when the entire J&K was in turmoil, witnessing bloodshed and adversity? NC, PDP, and Congress are actually feeling stifled and have now initiated a series of schemes against the progressive development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Raina asserted.

He further questioned, “Why did NC, PDP, and Congress not organise such protests when J&K was in crisis, with bloodshed on the streets, and people enduring immense hardship? Today, as J&K is advancing towards prosperity and development, these political groups have resorted to a conspiracy to mislead the public through their protest.”

It’s worth noting that the opposition parties in J&K, led by MP Dr Farooq Abdullah, convened a meeting in Jammu on Tuesday to discuss the prevailing political situation in the region. During the meeting, it was unanimously decided to stage a protest on October 10 against the Government of India, alleging the suspension of the Constitution in J&K and the deprivation of fundamental rights for the people of the region
