SRINAGAR: The Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district received a fresh spell of snowfall on Sunday morning, while plains in Kashmir experienced a light spell of rainfall.

Kashmir Scroll reported that 2-4 inches of fresh snow accumulated from midnight to Sunday morning, with snowfall continuing.

Meanwhile, authorities have closed the 84 Km Gurez-Bandipora road in anticipation of heavy snowfall predicted by the meteorological department from 18-21 February.

A low-level avalanche warning has also been issued in the upper reaches of the Valley, and travellers are advised to follow traffic police advisories.
