Sher-e-Kashmiri Institute of Medical Soura Thursday said that no death due to Swine flu happened in last 24 hours however, two patients suffering from the infection are admitted in the ICU.
SKIMS clarified in a statement that 21 year old pregnant lady from Pulwama who was referred as a case of acute respiratory distress syndrome and suspected of H1N1 died today but the treating doctors have diagnosed that her death occurred due to intra-uterine foetus.
The statement added that 10 fresh patients have been admitted in isolation ward, including two admitted in ICU.
“101 patients were seen today at special OPD upto 3 p.m and 14 samples collected for testing,” the statement said adding “the total number of confirmed cases of H1N1 positive till date is 277 and no case of H1N1 positive has been reported in last 24 hrs.”
Total number of 46 pending samples was processed out of which 20 were positive for influenza A and their sub typing for H1N1 will be done in the evening.
