An army man, who was earlier reportedly missing, has been found dead taking the number of army men killed in the encounter to four at Hafruda forests in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources told Srinagar based newsgathering agency GNS that while three army men were killed; another had gone missing following an encounter with the militants started on Sunday night.

“The body of the missing soldier was found amid bushes following massive searches carried in the area by army’s 6 RR along with reinforcement from special para commandos who were rushed to the area after fierce gunbattle”, they said.

Pertinently, the encounter had started when army’s 6 RR intercepted a group of militants in dense bushes of Tilpatren. The sources also said that it was not immediately known whether the group of militants had infiltrated recently or were present in the area already.

Meanwhile, the search operation was going on in Darpora area of Lolab in Kupwara where a militant was killed in an encounter with army Monday morning.
