The government on Friday suspended Internet services in Bandipora district following the gunfight between the government forces and militants at Mir Mohalla in Hajin town area in north Kashmir early today.

Local sources said that internet services were snapped soon after the encounter broke out in the area.

The gunfight started after a joint team of army’s 13 Rashtriya Rifles, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Mir Mohalla Locality of Hajin town in Bandipora district after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants.
