People Democratic Party leaders on Friday flew to Delhi to pay homage and to attend the last rites of the former prime minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Delhi.

Official sources said that all the PDP leaders including MLAs, MLCs and other party leaders on Friday morning left for Delhi, while, opposition leaders Omar Abdullah and Farooq Abdullah area also present on the occasion. The Governor N N Vohra, with whom he had served for years, also left on Thursday soon after the news of Vajpayee’s death.

Meanwhile, as a mark of respect to Vajpayee, who passed away at AIIMS Hospital New Delhi on August 16, 2018, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided all Offices, Boards, Corporations, and Educational Institutions shall remain closed today in the memory of departed soul.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former prime minister, passed away on Thursday. He was 93. Vajpayee was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in June. Vajpayee, who had been ailing for long, retreated from active public life over the last decade following the deterioration of his health and remained restricted to his residence.
