A complete shutdown is being observed in Hajin town of Bandipora district in northern part of Kashmir for the fourth consecutive day against the killing of a local LeT militant.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads on fourth consecutive day against the killing of Abid Hamid Mir, a Lashkar militant who was killed along with two associates in a gunfight with forces in Amargarh area of Sopore.

Meanwhile, district administration has ordered closure of all the educational institutions in Hajin and Sumbal towns as a precautionary measure.

“As per directions of deputy commissioner Bandipora, class 11th examinations and class work in Degree College Sumbal and all other educational institutions of Hajin and Sumbal zones shall remain suspended for today as a precautionary measure,” said a statement.
