Three unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter with police and security forces in Handwara District Sunday, police statement said this evening. “The identity of killed militants is being ascertained,” the police statement said.
“On a tip off, about the presence of militants in Krumhura village Handwara police along with, 21-RR, 9 Para, 92-Bn CRPF cordoned off the area and launched search operation. During the searches, hiding militants fired upon the joint search team, triggering an encounter. The encounter ended with the killing of three unidentified militants,” the statement said.
“03 AK riffles, 14 Magazines, 06 UBGL grenades were recovered from the encounter site,” the statement added.
