Police on Sunday said the two militants killed in a gunfight in Babagund area of Langate in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“Both the #terrorists killed were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit #LeT. One has been identified as #foreigner from #Pakistan. Identity of the other is being ascertained,” police wrote on Twitter.

The gunfight broke out soon after midnight on March 1after a joint team of the police, army and the CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Babagund village of Langate and ended on Sunday morning with the killing of two militants, an official said.
Five forces personnel and a civilian also died during the gunfight. Eleven forces personnel including a CRPF officer were injured in the gunfight, he said.
