In view of the prevailing situation in Handwara, the District Magistrate Kupwara held a civil society meeting with the civil society members of Handwara a number of issues were discussed and agreed upon.
The district magistrate has agreed to write to the army authorities for the removal of the Army bunker situated at main chowk in Handwara within a period of one month, read an order by the district magistrate, a copy of which lies with Kashmir Life.
The order further stated that the matter of ex-gratia relief to the NOK’s from all concerned authorities as pre rules in favor of all deceased persons will also be taken up by the undersigned (district magistrate) within stipulated time.
It further stated that a lenient view will be taken in general FIR as nobody has been nominated in general FIR.
“Disciplinary action will be taken against erring police officials under law. One officer namely ASI Mohd Rafiq stands placed under suspension for his alleged negligence of duty and a Magisterial enquiry by the under signed into the matter will be completed within stipulated time.”
