Director General of Police K Rajendra Tuesday said that police has taken up investigation into the killing of two youth in Handwara town in Kupwara District.

“It is very unfortunate incident and we regret the loss of lives. We will investigate and anybody found guilty will be punished,” Rajendra told KNS, adding that the situation in the town “is under control”.

Two youth identified as Mohammad Iqbal and Nayeem Qadir Bhat of Handwara were killed in forces firing during protests against the alleged molestation of a girl by an Army man.
