Panic gripped in the north village of Chotipora, Handwara on Thursday when people heard firing and ran for life. The panic increased manifold because an Army convoy of 21 RR was on its way at the time of firing.
Locals said that they heard few shots of firing and ran for life. They added that probably militants fired upon the army convoy.
Reports said that one army man sustained injuries in the incident.
However, police sources told Kashmir Life that it was an incident of a misfire by some army man.
Locals told Kashmir Life that after the firing incident forces stopped and cordoned off the area which gives a clear indication that militants had opened fire on them.
