Hanfia Islamia Institute from Kashmir Named Best Rural Middle School at CNMS ISC-2026 in New Delhi

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir’s Hanfia Islamia Institute, Turka-Tachloo, Anantnag, has been awarded the Best School honour in the Best Middle Schools (Rural) category at the Indian Schools Convention 2026 held in New Delhi.

The recognition was conferred during the event organised by the Centre for NaMo Studies (CNMS) in collaboration with the Media Centre, which highlighted excellence in school education across India.

Established in 1982, Hanfia Islamia Institute is one of the oldest educational institutions in the region. Located in Anantnag district, it has been contributing to academic and value-based education for over four decades, focusing on the holistic development of students in rural areas.

The convention was attended by several dignitaries, including former Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi as the chief guest. Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari, former Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, and Khwaja Iftikhar Ahmed, President of the Interfaith Harmony Foundation of India, also participated as principal guests. Swami Devendra Brahmachari and Maya Kulshreshtha were among the guests of honour.

The event was chaired by Feroz Bakht Ahmed, former Chancellor of MANUU, Hyderabad, with Prof Jasim Mohammad delivering the introductory remarks. Prof Divya Tanwar welcomed the participants, and Amrita Sastri moderated the proceedings.

Speaking on the occasion, organisers said the awards were designed to recognise institutions contributing to quality, inclusive, and value-based education in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. They said the selection process involved detailed evaluation and was carried out on the basis of merit and transparency.

Welcoming the recognition, Waseem Hassan Raja, Chairman of Hanfia Islamia Institute, said the award reflects the consistent efforts of teachers, students, and management. He said the institute will continue to work towards providing quality education and shaping responsible citizens.

He also thanked CNMS for providing a national platform to recognise educational institutions.
