Srinagar

Hurriyat Conference (G) has called for complete shutdown till Friday. Geelani led faction of Hurriyat has also called ‘Eidgah challo’ on Friday, February 15.

“Hurriyat has extended the shutdown program up to February 15, people are also appealed to gather in Eidgah Srinagar on Friday where a protest demonstration will be held to press for the mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat,” Tehreek-e-Hurriyat spokesman Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganai told Kashmir Life.

Ganai said that they have no communications with Hurriyat chairman, Syed Ali Geelani but the available leadership has decided to extend the ongoing protest strike up to February 15.

“This is irony that we are not able to communicate with Geelai Sahab who has been detained in his Delhi residence and Delhi police officials are sitting with him in his room, Geelani Sahab’s cell phone has been snatched from him so we are unable to communicate with him. The available leadership has decided to continue with the ongoing protest strike,” Ganai added.
